Gallo Pinto , who has a literal meaning of ” tainted chicken ” is the national dish of Costa Rica . It consists of rice and beans fried in a pan together quickly to create a mottled appearance .
It is usually served for breakfast , along with scrambled or fried cheese and sour cream or eggs, Spices in the mixture of rice and black beans or red include cilantro , red pepper, onion , celery and salsa Lizano .

Casados can be found in almost every soda serve for lunch mostly, some people rather to have this casada with coffe instead of the Natural drink.
Ceviche is a popular mouth boca (tapas or appetizers ) consisting of fresh raw fish marinated in citrus juices like lemon with herbs and finely chopped vegetables . In Costa Rica , the best ceviche is made with local tilapia or corvina ( white sea bass) and cilantro , garlic , pepper , onion and celery.
Where to eat: Ceviche can be found in most restaurants and some refreshments. If you go through, passing through the stalls of fresh fruit and green mango try some ceviche (scabbard fish replaces in this dish ) – it’s great!
