What to Expect During the Bioluminescence Tour

We will meet at the Paquera Ferry Port. If you are facing the ferry, walk about 100 meters to the right — this is our meeting point. The tour begins around 5:30 PM with a short safety briefing and preparation before getting into the kayaks.

We start paddling while watching the sunset over Paquera Bay and the peaceful transition from daylight to night. Around 6:20 PM, once the sky becomes darker, the bioluminescence begins to appear. At this moment, every movement in the water creates a magical blue glow.

During the tour, we will explain what bioluminescence is and how it works. You will have time to play with the glowing water using your hands or the paddle. Depending on the tide and conditions, we may stay in the kayaks or stop at a calm beach where you can get out and swim, allowing you to experience the glowing water up close.
